Dream interpretation is said to be the process of assigning meaning to dreams. In many ancient societies, such as those of Rome and Greece, dreaming was considered a supernatural communication or a means of divine intervention, whose message could be discovered by people with powers in that respect.
In modern times, various schools of psychology have offered theories about the meaning of dreams.
That dream which we recalled was us interrupting our subconscious as it processed information on our behalf.
Whilst our subconscious mind can use the same language as we do in everyday conversations or thinking to ourselves in our conscious mind, it does have its own language and it uses that language to sort things out for us.
Our subconscious mind speaks to itself using the language of Metaphor. In that way when we have a problem no matter how complex the problem is it can convert it into a complex metaphor and so be able to divine a way forward for us. It might be a month or just a week after we have been worrying about some obstacle or problem when hey presto, a solution to our entire problem will suddenly pop into our head. We might even become annoyed at ourselves for not having figured it all out before. But, we did not figure it out with our conscious mind going over and over it all as we did to no avail. Meantime, our subconscious was quietly constructing metaphors and building a solution for us.
